EAGLE CAR RENTAL POLICIES

All policies listed on this page are official and must be abided by customer upon renting from
Eagle Canada Car Rental.


Eagle accepts reservations in person, over the phone and internet. Specialty vehicles such as mini-van, Mini-Cooper and other premium vehicles will require a credit card for guaranteed rental. “No show” on guaranteed rentals will be charged 1 day rental fee if not cancelled at least 24 hours prior to pickup.

Eagle Canada Car Rental requires a minimum age of 23 to rent and operate our vehicles. There is no extra charge based upon age. The only exception to the age requirement is when the renter is covered under his/her own automobile insurance policy.

A valid driver’s license must be presented at time of rental. For Ontario licenses only full G class license will be accepted for rental. Out of province licenses, US licenses and international licenses will need to be verified and will only be accepted at the agent’s own discretion.

At the time of rental the renter MUST present a valid credit card in their own name with sufficient credit. Credit cards honoured: Visa, Master and American Express. It is possible to rent with another person’s credit card however, the person providing the credit card must also be present at time of rental with proper photo ID.

Border crossings (Provincial/International) are possible with Eagle’s vehicles for a surcharge. Simply let our agent know that you are planning on leaving Ontario at time of booking or at the checkout counter to complete this process. It is $5/day for going to other provinces and $10/day for crossing border to the United States. If you leave Ontario without written permission you will still be charged the border crossing surcharge for the duration of the rental agreement.

Should the rented vehicle be returned with odour, pet hair or stains that require professional cleaning a cleaning surcharge of up to $250 will be charged to the renter.

Eagle’s vehicle rates, unless otherwise packaged do not include gas. All rentals will be provided with a full tank of gas and be required to return at full. A $20 service charge plus the cost of fuel will be charged to the renter should the vehicle be returned at less than a full tank.

All vehicles except Premium and Specialty class include 200 km free mileage per day. Mileage over this is charged at $0.16 per kilometer. Unlimited mileage option is available to at $15/day for up to 4,500 km per rental agreement (unavailable to Premium and Specialty vehicles).

If the vehicle is still drivable please notify our office and bring the vehicle back for a replacement. Should you be out of province or require immediate mechanical service at your own expenses,  please keep all receipts and you will be reimbursed when you return the vehicle. If towing is required, please notify Eagle and towing will be arranged at our expense.

You must notify Eagle Canada within 24 hours of the accident. Depending on the accident you may be required to complete an accident report for Eagle Canada and for your own record. Towing expense in the case of an accident is the renter’s own responsibility. Please be truthful and as detailed as possible when you file an accident report to the authorities.

When renting a vehicle from Eagle Canada the renter is responsible for the full replacement value of the vehicle. The vehicle must be returned to Eagle’s office in the same condition that it was received except normal wear and tear. Eagle offers two Loss Damage Wavier options to waive part or all of the financial responsibility to the rental vehicle:

OPTION 1: Partial Waiver: For $15/day the renter will only be responsible for up to $2,500 of repair cost ($2,500 deductible). Higher 

OPTION 2: Complete Waiver. For $25/day the renter will not need to pay for any repair on the exterior of the vehicle caused by collision or damage ($0 deductible). However, this coverage is voided if the renter is in violation of the rental agreement or if the vehicle was operated by an unauthorized driver.A rental day is 24 hours. Each vehicle is expected to be returned at the same time as it was rented on the initial day. A late charge of $100/day + daily rental rate will be applied for late returns. Eagle strives to maintain a Smoke-Free Fleet. We ask all customers to refrain from any type of smoking in our vehicles. Each vehicle will be confirmed “smoke-free” when it is provided to a customer. Upon its return, it will be inspected if the car returns with smell of smoke or physical evidence of smoking (ash, butts, cigarette burns, etc.), customers will be subjected to an additional cleaning charge of $250.
